What is Diaspora Groceries Cares?


We are a nonprofit organization based in South Los Angeles that provides micro-grants, wellness education, and small business support to food entrepreneurs and families. We believe food is healing, and community is power.


How are you different from Diaspora Groceries LLC?
Diaspora Groceries LLC is our mission-aligned partner and retail hub. We collaborate on events like pop-up markets and the Diversity Vendor & Supplier Summit, but Diaspora Groceries Cares operates independently as a nonprofit. We provide direct community support, education, and funding.


Who can apply for your programs?
Our programs are open to individuals and families living or working in the South LA ecosystem, especially those in food, wellness, or small business. Eligibility requirements are listed on each program page.


How are donations used?
Donations help us fund micro-grants, pay local wellness educators, run vendor coaching sessions, and support day-to-day program costs. We prioritize transparency and community reinvestment.


Can I volunteer or sponsor an event?
Yes! We welcome volunteers, mentors, sponsors, and collaborators. Visit the “Get Involved” tab or contact us directly.
