Our Mission
Diaspora Groceries Cares is a nonprofit rooted in community love, culture, and lived experience. Our mission is to advance wellness, food justice, and economic opportunity for families and entrepreneurs across South LA. We do this by providing microgrants, business support, wellness education, and real-world vendor opportunities in partnership with our sister company, Diaspora Groceries LLC.
Our Vision
We envision a South LA where health is accessible, ownership is possible, and food is a source of both healing and wealth.
Who We Serve
We serve the South Los Angeles ecosystem: the chefs, caregivers, growers, healers, and families who have long sustained their communities with limited resources and limitless love.
We collaborate with people already doing the work. Our role is to invest in, uplift, and walk beside them.
Our Story
Diaspora Groceries Cares was founded in 2024 by a team of women with deep roots in South LA—Tiffany Haddish, Richea Jones, and Marva Smith. United by a shared commitment to healing, justice, and generational wealth, they launched this nonprofit to support local entrepreneurs and bring wellness and economic tools to communities that have too often been overlooked.

Consultant, policy expert, and cultural organizer with decades of experience building nonprofit infrastructure in South LA.
Richea Jones
Co-Founder
Richea Jones is a community-centered entrepreneur, organizer, and advocate for food justice and economic empowerment. As co-founder of Diaspora Groceries, she brings lived experience, industry knowledge, and a deep commitment to helping underutilized communities reclaim access to wellness and wealth. Richea’s leadership is grounded in love, loss, resilience, and a drive to create systems that work for everyone—especially those most often overlooked.

Tiffany Haddish
Founder
Tiffany Haddish is more than a comedian and award-winning actor—she is a visionary community builder with deep roots in South Los Angeles. Through Diaspora Groceries Cares, Tiffany brings her passion for justice, wellness, and creative entrepreneurship to the neighborhoods that shaped her. Her lived experience fuels a commitment to supporting foster youth, fighting food insecurity, and investing in generational healing.
